This trip is carefully organized to the photographers  that enjoys capturing images in a slow paced manner. It is not a rigorous trip and all ages can easily handle this excursion. An ideal short trip for anyone wishing to linger a little longer in Myanmar this fully accompanied, 2-day mini-tour takes in the famous sites of Bago, (the former ancient capital of the Mon civilisation Pegu), and the spectacular Golden Rock – known locally as Kyaiktiyo –  both of which lie within convenient driving distance of Yangon

  • Photographing the highlights of Bago including doing a staged shots of Reclining Buddha Statue , doing the staged shots at secret pagoda in Bago , indoor photography at clay pot making factory .
  • Shooting village photos and landscape photography on the way to Golden Rock.
  • Shooting sunset and sunrise photography at Golden Rock and doing the portrait photography around Golden Rock .
Day 1 :
Drive to Golden Rock enroute Bago

Early Morning departure by private car for Bago, the former capital of the mighty 15th century Mon Kingdom of Pegu, situated some 80 kilometres northeast of Yangon. It is because morning light is the best to make the iconic photos of your journey . and also we have the plan to do some staged shots in Bago before the light is getting strong .
So driving straight to Bago is compulsory , upon arrival to Bago , we are doing a staged shots at Huge Reclining Buddha Statue ( this is less visited place in Bago ) . where we will spend minimum one hour to get the great shots . then we are to take a short break at the local tea shop for quick breakfast and toilet stop . then continue our expedition to Golden Rock and we will make some stops on the way where we can have opportunist shots .
What is Golden Rock ?
Golden Rock (otherwise known as Kyaiktiyo Pagoda) is not only visually stunning, but one of the most important religious sites in Burma. Teetering on the very edge of a cliff as though poised to tumble into the valley below, it almost defies belief. There are several legends surrounding its existence, all of which hinge on the belief that the boulder is balancing on a strand of the Buddha’s hair.
Upon arrival to basecamp of Golden Rock , we are to take the open truck ( Public shared truck –taking minimum 45 minutes up to Golden Rock )to get to uphill truck station of Golden Rock . then we will take seven minutes walk to check in hotel and then take a short break before our visit to Golden Rock in the late afternoon .
In the late afternoon ( minimum one and half hour before sunset ), we are to leave for Golden Rock ( it may take only 10 minutes walk form your hotel ) and we will do a free shooting around the pagoda platform of Golden Rock and photograph the silhouette shots of Golden Rock during the pre and post sunset . Overnight stay in Golden Rock .

Day 2 :
Drive back to Yangon & Bago Discovery

This morning , your optional visit to Golden Rock in early morning for doing the sunrise shots and enjoy the breakfast at hotel and then check out hotel and take the downhill truck to the basecamp of Golden Rock to continue a visit to Bago on the way back to Yangon .
Upon arrival to Bago , We will truly focus on doing the staged shots at one of the secret photography playgrounds ( doing staged shots with novice ) and doing indoor photography at local clay pot making factory in Bago . then drive back to Yangon . Transfer to your hotel in Yangon .

What kind of camera gears shoud i bring ?

Normal city tours of duration of a day or few hours can be done with almost any camera, even a reasonably good phone camera works quite well. But with tours like wild life photography, night photography and similar others, it’s better to have a DSLRs or Mirror less . Equipment is not everything, but it certainly makes a noticeable difference.
